  Prof. Patrick Serruys, MD, Ph.D.
  Dr. Patrick W. Serruys is Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Interuniversity Cardiological Institute of the Netherlands (1988-1998), and the Erasmus University. Since 1980 he has been Director of the Clinical Research Program of the Catheterization Laboratory, Thoraxcenter, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands and since 1997 the Head of the Interventional Department, Heartcenter Rotterdam. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and scientific council of the International College of Angiology. He is the author or co-author of over 1400 papers and editor or co-editor of 32 books, and a member of 14 Editorial Boards of Scientific Journals. Dr. Serruys received the M.D. degree (1972) from the Catholic University of Louvain, Louvain, Belgium and his PhD degree (1986) from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has been associate editor of Circulation for Europe for five years and he recently co-edited the Textbook of Cardiology of the European Society if Cardiology. In 1996 he received the TCT Career Achievement Award and in 1997 he was awarded the Wenkebach Prize of the Dutch Heart Foundation. In 2000 he was awarded the Gruentzig Award of the European Society of Cardiology. In 2001 he held the Paul Dudley White Lecture at the American Heart Association in the USA. In 2004 he held the 4th International Lecture at the AHA and Mikamo Lecture at the Japanese heart Association. In 2006 he received the highest award of the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association: the James Herrick Award.

  Prof. Martin B. Leon, MD
  Dr. Martin B. Leon is a member of advisory board at SMTPL. He has done significant work in field of Interventional Cardiology. He has served as a practicing interventional cardiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/CUMC and as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials that have helped shape the field of interventional vascular medicine, including the STARS, Gamma-1, and (most recently) SIRIUS trial.
  Dr. Leon has co-authored over 900 publications, has performed over 7,000 interventional procedures, and has had a major impact on the development of modern interventional vascular devices and therapies.
  He is presently takes seat as Chairman Emeritus of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation and Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). He is the Director and Founder of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, the largest dedicated meeting in interventional vascular therapy in the world. He was a founder of the Washington Cardiology Center and the Cardiology Research Foundation in Washington, DC. He headed several such medical institutes / Hospitals throughout his career.
  He completed a fellowship in Cardiology at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Leon completed medical school at the Yale School of Medicine, and his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.

  Prof. D.S. Gambhir, MD, DM(Cardiology)
  Prof. D.S. Gambhir after obtaining his doctorate degree (DM), he joined the Department of Cardiology, G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi as Asstt. Professor in 1985 and then rose to the position of Professor at the young age of 44 years.  Presently, he is working as the Director of Cardiology, Kailash Heart Institute, NOIDA.
 

Prof. Gambhir is one of the icons in the field of interventional cardiology who  has not only treated countless number of patients by his masterly skills on complex and multivessel angioplasties, but also trained a large number of doctors in the field of interventional cardiology by performing Live Demonstrations in several teaching courses, in India as well as overseas. He has been invited as a Guest Speaker for several international meetings, including American College of Cardiology (ACC), TCT (USA), Euro-PCR (Paris), Singapore Live (Singapore), Angioplasty Summit (Korea), CCT (Japan) and Vascular Leader Summits (Bangkok, Shanghai and Malaysia) over the past decade.

  Prof. Gambhir is a dedicated teacher and an intense researcher. He has published over 110 original papers in national and international journals, chapters in various text books besides editing ‘Cardiology Update’ in 2002. He has served as the Hon. Editor of Indian Heart Journal for six years (1995-2000) and a member of the Editorial Board of many indexed international journals published from Asia, US and UK. He has been a Principal Investigator of several multicentric national as well as international drug and devices trials.
  Prof. Gambhir has been associated as a member of the Executive Committee and office bearer of the Cardiological Society of India for over two decades.  He was the Chairman of Scientific Committee for its Annual Conference during the year 2002 which was widely acclaimed and appreciated.  As a tribute to his scientific acumen and organizational skills, he was unanimously elected as the President of the Cardiological Society of India for the year 2003. He has been one of the founding members of Indian College of Cardiology (ICC) and risen to the position of its President for the year 2007-08.
 

For his valuable contributions in the field of cardiology, Prof. Gambhir has received several honours and awards from various professional and social organizations including State Award by the Government of Delhi, “Life Time Achievement Award” from Delhi Medical Association and “Distinguished Physician Award” from Association of American Cardiologists of Indian Origin, USA. For his achievements in medical profession for more than two decades, he has been conferred the Honorary Fellowship of National Academy of Medical Sciences (2003), Indian College of Cardiology (2005), Cardiological Society of India (2006) and College of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (2007) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC).

  Dr. Alexandre Abizaid, MD, PhD
  Prof. Abizaid is the member of advisory board. Prof. Abizaid's areas of interest are drug-eluting stents and intravascular ultrasound. He has conducted several first-in-man studies testing multiple DES systems and participated very actively in numerous randomized trials and post-marketing registries.
  Prof. Abizaid has received several awards for his contribution in Cardiology science. He is presenter of 400 abstracts in numerous international meetings. He also has co-authered more than 100 research papers centering cardiology.
  He is presently serves as Chief of Coronary Interventions at Institute Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia in São Paulo, Brazil, and a Visiting Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He is also a key faculty member of CRF who spends part of his time in São Paulo leading an active research program, and in New York at CRF and Columbia, where he plays an important role as a co-director of TCT.
  Prof. Abizaid completed medical school at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil, and his fellowship at Washington Hospital Center, in Washington, DC.

  Dr. Sameer Dani, MD, DM(Cardiology)
  Dr. Sameer Dani is a member of advisory board. He is currently serving as Director of Department of Cardiology, Apollo Hospital, Bhat, Ahmedabad (India). He has been involved in more than 20,000 cardiac catheterization & angioplasty procedures. He is also heading the U. N. Mehta Institute of cardiology & research centre at Ahmedabad. He is working as a Managing Director, Life Care Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Ahmedabad (India). He is an honorary cardiologist to the governor, Gujarat state, India.
  More than 65 research papers has been published by him in research areas including advanced practices of CAD treatments, PTCA & other areas in Cardiology. He is proud recipient of National Scholarship scheme of Ministry education & culture, GOI. Also, awarded with the Dr. N. H. Patel Gold medal of cardiology (1993) from Gujarat University.
  He holds the D.M. in Cardiology from Gujarat University. He is a recipient of prestigious Hargobind Fellowship from C. H. U. Hospital Charles Nichole, Rouen, France.

  Dr. IMAD SHEIBAN, M.D
  Dr. Imad Sheiban was born in Rama ( Israel ) August 9, 1951. He graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Padua (Italy) and completed his Postgraduate School in Cardiology at the same University.
  He then moved to the Centre of Cardiovascular Pathophysiology of the Department of Medicine at the University of Verona where he worked until 1995. as the Responsible for the Hemodynamic Laboratory of the Department of Internal Medicine . In 1996. He moved to the Division of cardiology of Istituto Scientifico , San Raffaele Hospital in Milan where he worked as Director of Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology Laboratory until February 1998 and as Associated Director of Interventional Cardiology ( with Dr A. Colombo), at San Raffaele Hospital until May 1999. Then he moved to the Division of Cardiology in the University of Turin as Director of Interventional Cardiology Unit where is still working. From 2003 he is Associated Professor of Cardiology at the University of Torino.
  In 1978-1979 he spent a year at the Cardiothoarcic Institute in London ( Department of Clinical Measurements directed by Dr AF Rickards) where he undertook a training programme in hemodynamic studies and research, and a further year (1988-1989) at St Luke's Hospital , Wisconsin University, Milwuakee, Interventional cardiology directed by Dr G Dorros ) where he carried out a training programme in Interventional Cardiology.
From 1989 until now, he performed approximately 10000 procedures of Interventional Cardiology including PTCAs, laser angioplasty, directional and rotational atherectomies, coronary stenting, IVUS, intracoronary pressure wire and flow wire studies both in elective and emergency settings. In the last two years he also performed more than 400 peripheral angioplasty procedures including extra-cranial carotid artery angioplasty and transcatheter treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Dr. Sheiban belongs to a number of national and international scientific societies , and , from 1993 to 1995 he was also a member of the Executive Board of the Italian Group of Hemodynamic Studies and Interventional Cardiology.
In 2003 he is Associated Professor of Cardiology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Torino.
  He is actively involved in different research programmes on coronary stenting, restenosis , drug-eluting stent and non-stent based devices , left ventricular function in acute and chronic ischemia and in acute myocardial infarction and actively participating to several international multicenter trials in Interventional Cardiology.
He is also owner of international patents on stent delivery system and a stent for bifurcation lesions.
Dr. Sheiban has been an invited speaker in several national and international symposia on Interventional Cardiology and other aspects of ischemic heart disease.
He also participated in writing several books and has published over 500 articles and abstracts in a wide variety of national and international journals.

  Dr. Pravin Chandra, MD
  Dr. Praveen Chandra is a member of Advisory board. He is currently Director of Cath Lab & Acute MI Services at Max Devki Devi Heart & Vascular Institute, New Delhi. His areas of expertise include cardiac care and research into cardiovascular diseases. He has been serving as consultant cardiologist in various institutes at Lucknow and New Delhi. Also has provided services as visiting interventional cardiologist in cardiology & research institutes at Patna and Nepal.
  He has been co-organizer of International Cardiology scientific meetings & clinical trials. Also, has been the attendee of multiple national & international conferences. He has authored several research publications concerning to Stenting.
  He has earned postdoctoral training in Cardiology (DM) from Lucknow University. He has completed Interventional Fellowship from University of Rouen, France. Presently as Cardiology Consultant, he is involved in teaching and training fellows and attendees in Cardiology, including those appearing for the Diplomat of the National Board of Cardiology, and in organizing weekly update meetings and seminars.
